Management Systems
Mernok Elektronik offers three vehicle management systems. MaxusX and Commander2xx offer complete underground rail bound safety solutions and Commander1xx is a system dedicated for trackless vehicles.
Traffic Light Systems
Traffic light systems are typically used in congested areas to improve safety by controlling the flow of vehicles. Mernok Elektronik Traffic light control systems can be used to improve efficiency and safety in the mining industry.
Command Suite
The collection and analysis of data is a critical tool in modern mining to better understand operations and improve efficiency and safety. It is also one of the first steps required for the imminent way forward of automation.
What is PDS?
A Proximity Detection System (PDS) detects and warns equipped vehicle’s operators and equipped pedestrians of each other’s presence. The size and inherent blind spots of some mining vehicles (underground or surface)

Who we are
Mernok Elektronik designs, manufactures and supplies Proximity Detection Systems (PDS) as well as vehicle management systems and peripherals for the South African mining industry.
Founded in 2008 by managing director Schalk Janse van Rensburg, Mernok Elektronik has come a long way in just a few years. Our products are currently used by some of the biggest names in the mining industry.
The company’s focus was initially vested in three main areas, namely mining applications, military applications and high-end industrial applications. In 2016 we decided to re-focus the company to service only the mining sector. This decision was made to ensure that we deliver the best possible specialist service to a very demanding industry.
We have a highly experienced team of designers and with continuous investment in research and development we design and manufacture all of our products in-house. A good understanding of the industry together with the fact that all of our products are designed in-house allows us to rapidly respond to client-specific requirements.
